APPLY FOR THE WORLDBLU LIST OF MOST DEMOCRATIC WORKPLACES™

We're excited that your organization has decided to apply for the WorldBlu List of Most Democratic Workplaces™. The WorldBlu List will be comprised of organizations that have taken the WorldBlu Democratic Workplace Scorecard™ and scored high enough to be considered one of the most democratic workplaces in the world. The WorldBlu List will be announced on April 24, 2008, Democracy in the Workplace Day.

Applying for the WorldBlu List involves having your organization take the WorldBlu Democratic Workplace Scorecard™. Before you begin your application, we recommend that you have determined the following and have the following materials on-hand:

Determine if your organization is eligible.
Organizations from any sector -- for-profit, non-profit, or government -- are welcome to apply for the WorldBlu List of Most Democratic Workplaces™. In order to be eligible, an organization needs to have been in operation for at least one (1) full year and needs to have at least five (5) regular full-time or part-time employees (not including temps or independent contractors).

Identify the person who will be the WorldBlu Scorecard Administrator.
The Scorecard Administrator will be responsible for administering the WorldBlu Scorecard to the organization, receiving updates and the final score, and being the main point of contact for WorldBlu during the process.

Obtain the support of the organization's top leader.
While a democratic organization embraces and practices the principles of organizational democracy at every level of the organization, the full support of the organization's top leader (CEO or equivalent) is absolutely essential. The process asks for confirmation that the top leader supports the organization's application for the WorldBlu List of Most Democratic Workplaces™.

Upload your organization's logo.
You will be asked to upload your organization's logo during the application process in order to customize the WorldBlu Scorecard's look for your organization.

Have the exact number of employees in your organization.
During the application process, the number of people who need to take the Scorecard will also be determined. Depending on your organization's size, you will either need to have all members of your organization take the Scorecard or a random sample of a certain number of employees in your organization in order for the survey to be statically valid. Please have on hand an accurate number of total regular full-time or part-time employees (not including temporary employees or independent contractors) when you begin the application process. To learn more about how many people in your organization need to take the Scorecard, please click here.

Have on hand a list of the departments or teams in your organization.
Everyone taking the WorldBlu Scorecard in your organization will be asked to respond to the following statement: "I am part of the following department/division/unit/team/committee/other organizational group" and they will be presented with a drop down list of options from which they will select only one. This drop down list must be comprehensive so that anyone from anywhere in the organization will be able to locate the name of their organizational group in the list. Before you begin the application, please have on hand a comprehensive list of the names of your organizational departments/divisions/units/teams/committees which will be used to customize your Scorecard.
