1: Who is the Freedom at Work Experience For?
The Freedom at Work Experience, produced by the WorldBlu Academy, is for C-suite leaders, HR strategic leaders, and Learning and Development professionals (or equivalent), who are committed to learning about how to build high-energy, high-growth, and high-performing workplace cultures using freedom rather than fear and control.
2: When and Where is it Happening?
The Freedom at Work Experience main experience is happening Oct. 22-23, 2018 at the Loews Resort in Coronado Bay, San Diego.
We have a tribe experience happening Oct. 20-21st for two days of fun activities and time at the beach for members of our global community to further connect and build relationships. Families are welcome to join us!
After the main experience, on Oct. 24th, up to 50 people will get to take a deeper dive into the Freedom at Work culture experience with a visit to the new offices of the WD-40 Company, a WorldBlu Certified Freedom-Centered Workplace™ and engage in an exclusive Q&A with Garry Ridge, the CEO of WD-40 and fellow members of their tribe.
We strongly encourage you to book your hotel rooms at the Loews Resort. Tell them you're with WorldBlu to get our special room rate. The rates are great and there is nothing else really close by. Don’t waste valuable networking time stuck in traffic trying to get across the bridge to beautiful Coronado Bay!
3: What Exactly is Freedom at Work™?
Freedom at Work™ is a proven trademarked system developed by Traci Fenton and taught by WorldBlu globally. It is a system for developing high-energy, high-growth, and high-performing workplace cultures and organizations that operate using freedom rather than fear and control.
Freedom at Work has been used in small to large organizations in almost every industry, all over the world. You can explore a list of WorldBlu Certified Freedom-Centered Workplaces™ here.
4: WHAT will i learn?
Interested in higher engagement? More trust? Solving communication problems? Increasing innovation and creativity? Better well-being? Attracting and retaining top talent? Knowing how to scale your already great culture?
If you said yes to any of the above, then we have you covered. There are three core areas we focus on at the Freedom at Work Experience that make up the Freedom at Work system. They are:
Mindset: We will teach you the proven 5-step mindset practice used by leaders in 65 countries worldwide for how to shift your thinking from fear to freedom in an instant. Knowing how to do this will enable you to overcome any limitation, make better decisions, feel super-charged, live stress-free, and achieve the results you want. Our practice is something you can use with your teams, one-one-one with employees, and even in your personal life.
Leadership: We will teach you the proven Freedom-Centered Leadership model, which includes the three core attributes of a Freedom-Centered Leader. These three attributes are what we believe every leader must understand and practice if they plan to lead others using freedom rather than fear.
Organizational Design: We will teach you how to intentionally design a freedom-centered organization, making the shift away from the outdated command and control model using the WorldBlu 10 Principles of Organizational Democracy. Benefits include learning our 7-step process for how to both design AND implement freedom-centered best practices for your organization. Participants will also get our exclusive e-book entitled, “50+ Transformational Practices in Freedom at Work,” full of cutting-edge ideas in organizational design.
Throughout the event, Transformational Coaches will be available to support and guide you through the material we cover and how it applies to you and your workplace.
We encourage you to bring your three biggest culture challenges and we will teach you how to solve them!
5: Is freedom at work just a nice idea, or can I expect to get real results for my business, too?
WorldBlu is serious about getting results for our clients.
While it’s hard to quantify the bottom-line results of culture transformation, WorldBlu has been able to because of our tools and methods.
According to an independent study, companies that practice the Freedom at Work system have, on average, 7x the revenue growth over a three-year period, compared with the S&P 500.
You can check out the results we’ve achieved for our clients.
6: WHAT won't be happening AT the experience?
Don’t come expecting to party like its 1999 or sing kumbaya!
We’re serious about having good clean fun together, building positive relationships, and teaching you the proven methods, tools, and skills to move your organization forward.
Come expecting to go deep, work hard, make real friends with a tribe of incredible people, and leave on a natural “high.”
7: isn't this just a conference? why do you call it an "experience?"
Most conferences are about information – we are about transformation, and real transformation only happens when you are having a shared experience.
Research shows that most of what you learn at a traditional conference is forgotten in a matter of days, whereas when you learn ideas and immediately apply them to your life and your organization, they tend to stick.
Most conferences bring in a lot of speakers to talk on a theme. We don't. The Freedom at Work Experience is designed to TEACH you the proven Freedom at Work™ system, not entertain you for a few days with a bunch of talking heads.
Our event is called an “experience” because it’s just that – we’ve designed it for you to experience real freedom personally, interpersonally, and by experiencing a WorldBlu certified Freedom-Centered organization.
We aren't about hype – we’re about substance and results. We’re for the serious players, not the dabblers who want Band-Aids and quick-fixes.
We’re here to make the most of your time and resources and teach you the tangible tools and strategies you can immediately apply when you get back to your organization.
8: there are so many things competing for my time and money, why should I attend?
The Freedom at Work Experience is for leaders who really want to learn how to transform their mindset, leadership skill and organizational design to build a world-class culture using the proven Freedom at Work system. You simply cannot learn this anywhere else.
Sure, you can go to a conference where you get to see your friends and listen to speakers you can also listen to online, or you can come to a life-changing experience that will make the most of your time and resources by teaching you a proven system that delivers real bottom-line results. And yes, you will make some wonderful new connections and friends along the way, too!
9: how does freedom at work™ compare to other methods (like self-management, holocracy, agile, sociocracy, teal, b-corps, conscious capitalism, etc.)?
Here at WorldBlu, we have a lot of respect for other methods and organizations out there working raise the bar on work.
While it’s difficult to comment generally on all the methods listed above, what makes the Freedom at Work™ system different in general is that we take a principle-based vs practice-based approach to building high-performing organizations, which allows more flexibility and creativity, whereas most (but not all) of the methods above have an exact way of practicing them.
The Freedom at Work system also starts with making sure you have the right mindset to build a freedom-centered organization. Most other methods don't touch on mindset and how to cultivate it.
When it comes to organizational design, we are specifically teaching the proven system called organizational democracy (which is not simply voting), based on 10 core principles. Most of the above methods touch on some but not all of the principles and therefore, we believe, are an incomplete system.
Lastly, another major difference is that we address the #1 root cause of most workplace issues, whereas most methods simply deal with the symptoms. Interested in knowing what the #1 root issue is of most workplace culture problems? Come to the Freedom at Work Experience!
10: who else IS attending?
We have C-suite, HR and L&D leaders attending from all over the world. Past brands that have participated include Apple, FIrefox, Zappos, Spotify, Groupon, Pandora, DaVita, Podio and hundreds more.
Those attending will receive a list of Experience participants so they can network, connect, and maintain friendships long after the event.

15: WHAT is the night of honor? do I really have to dress up?
The Night of Honor, happening the evening of October 23rd is a black-tie invited gala awards ceremony, dinner and dance honoring champions of freedom in the workplace.
While the attire for the main event is business casual, at the Night of Honor we ask men to come wearing black tie (or equivalent) and women to wear a cocktail dress (or equivalent) as a way of honoring the nobility of freedom and democracy.
Every day, people languish in fear-based workplaces, schools, communities, and countries. Dressing up is a way of acknowledging that we’re not just honoring ideas and leaders who will soon be forgotten – we're honoring freedom and democracy, something people have been fighting for and dying for, for millennia.
