You've built a successful democratic workplace, now how do you sustain and grow it? You need a support network that understands the unique challenges and rewards of running a workplace democratically rather than in a traditional way. However, finding a network of people who can not only advise you on your organization but also on how to do it democratically can be extremely difficult. That's why we created the WorldBlu Councils, the only peer-to-peer learning network in the world for C-level leaders committed to operating their organizations democratically. WorldBlu Councils provide the vital perspective CEOs and their leadership teams need to build and sustain a world-class democratic organization.
The WorldBlu Council program includes:
- Three times a year, in groups of up to 16, WorldBlu Council members engage in in-person discussions under the facilitation of a highly trained WorldBlu Council Chair.
- Monthly, hour-long coaching sessions with an executive coach.
- Access to the WorldBlu Council network.
Membership in the Councils provides the following benefits:
Fresh Practices and Insights. New insights and best practices are needed to fuel and grow any democratic workplace. WorldBlu Councils are the only platform in the world for top democratic leaders committed to exploring cutting-edge ideas and tangible best practices, coaching each other through challenges, and sharing time-tested insights for fully utilizing the unique competitive advantage and bottom-line benefits of democracy in the workplace.
Smarter Decisions. WorldBlu Councils provide the most effective sounding board for a democratic leader's toughest decisions. In a network of peers committed to helping each other achieve their best, Council members help eliminate each other's blind spots, get the "trial" without the "error," and help each other make better decisions when the stakes are the highest.
A Network of Advisors. Democratic business leaders have precious few people they can turn to for seasoned advice on how to grow and sustain a democratic workplace. Think of the WorldBlu Councils as an external advisory board for you and your organization that taps the collective knowledge of some of the smartest people on the subject and proves the value of asking for help from one's peers.
Enhanced Performance. WorldBlu Councils are about improving members' performance so their organizations can perform better. With a focus on helping each other succeed, members and Chairs help uncover opportunities, challenge assumptions, and hold each other accountable for taking action. In the end, it's all about continuous learning and turning good intentions into great results.
WorldBlu Councils are comprised of up to 16, C-level executives from diverse, non-competing industries, are strictly confidential, and are professionally facilitated by a WorldBlu Council Chair. When possible, Councils are held at various WorldBlu List awardees' offices, so members can learn from experiencing one another's democratic workplaces. Guest speakers are also invited in from time to time to share ideas and insights. Council members also have access to monthly coaching sessions with an executive coach, which are dedicated to enhancing their performance as a leader of a top democratic organization.
Membership in a WorldBlu Council is open to up to two C-level executives (top leader or equivalent) from any organization that made the WorldBlu List of Most Democratic Workplacesª 2007.
WorldBlu Council members agree to attend a minimum of two of the three in-person meetings offered each year and to both ask for help and to give help to their non-competitive peers. If a member cannot attend a meeting, they may send a representative in their place.
